Whitney Houston to Reveal Details of Drug Addiction on Oprah

R&B singer Whitney Houston will finally open up about her drug addiction on Oprah Winfrey’s talk show, explaining that she was once so deep in the clutches of her addiction to crack cocaine that she spent seven months dressed only in her pajamas.

She will also recount the day her mother staged an armed intervention, bursting into her house with police to force her daughter into rehab. “She said, ‘I’m not losing you to the world, I’m not losing you to Satan. I want my daughter back,’” Houston said in a clip from the segment, which airs in two parts Monday and Tuesday.

That day, Houston’s mother told then-husband Bobby Brown that if he attempted to get in the middle of her intervention, armed guards “would take (him) down.”

The Grammy-award winning singer previously denied her drug addiction in a 2002 interview with Diane Sawyer. She’s now in confessional mode as she’s promoting her new album “I Look to You,” her first in more than a decade.

The two-part interview will air on Oprah on Monday, September 14th, and Tuesday, September 15th.
